The permanent collection of the Museum of the National Bank of Romania has added a new and attractive section dedicated to gold, opened at the beginning of 2014. By presenting a modern and original concept dedicated to gold, and starting from the map of the world as a bearer of gold deposits, our gold section displays valuable pieces, such as the key-exhibit, the gold ingot, as well unique information on gold.

Our Gold section offers visitors of the NBR museum an exclusive experience. He will be taken on a visual trip on the geographic map of the world to discover the largest gold deposits in the world, of which we have selected four gold ingots for safe keeping and exhibiting, in a jewel box showcase.

Through the generosity of the National Museum for Natural History “Grigore Antipa” and the Mineralogy Museum of Baia Mare, our exhibition also encompasses several types of gold deposits – a vein of gold and mine flowers with native elements on quartz matrices.
