As a member of the Network for Greening the Financial Sector (NGFS) since 2020, the NBR takes steps to identify, develop and utilise some of the specific climate risk analysis tools and makes specific recommendations to the banking sector. At the same time, NBR representatives participate in a series of events or training sessions organised by European institutions (i.e. the European Systemic Risk Board, the Council of the European Union) in which various aspects of legislative initiatives related to sustainable finance are tackled, and specialists prepare analyses on possible implications of climate risk on the European financial system. As of 30 december 2022, the NGFS consists of 121 members and 19 observers.
