Numismatic issues dedicated to the celebration of 115 years since the birth of Irina Constantziu-Vlassopol.

Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 8 June 2015, , the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the celebration of 115 years since the birth of Irina Constantziu-Vlassopol.

The coin has the following technical characteristics:

  • Face value: lei 10
  • Metal: silver
  • Fineness: 999‰
  • Shape: round
  • Diameter: 37 mm
  • Weight: 31,103 g
  • Quality: proof
  • Edge: milled

Obverse the image of “Inginer N. Vlassopol” cargo boat on which Irina Constantziu-Vlassopol sailed and a partial representation of the world map; the inscription “ROMANIA”, the coat of arms of Romania, the year of issue “2015”, and the face value “10 LEI”.

Reverse the portrait of Irina Constantziu-Vlassopol and the inscription “IRINA CONSTANTZIU-VLASSOPOL – 115 ANI DE LA NASTERE” in an arc.


The silver coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules. They are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French.

Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The mintage of this numismatic issue is 250 coins.

The selling price is lei 320.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the leaflet.

The silver coins dedicated to the celebration of 115 years since the birth of Irina Constantziu-Vlassopol are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The silver coins will be put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
