Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 21 September 2015, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the anniversary of 25 years since the establishment of SMURD.
The coin has the following technical characteristics:

- Shape: round
- Diameter: 37 mm
- Weight: 31.103 g
- Quality: proof
- Edge: milled
Obverse: a graphic composition symbolising emergency medical care, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “10 LEI”, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2015”.
Reverse: a member of the SMURD medical staff, surrounded by the response equipment supporting rescue operations, “SERVICIUL MOBIL DE URGENTA, REANIMARE SI DESCARCERARE” inscribed in an arc and its year of establishment “1990”.
The silver coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules. They are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French.
Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this numismatic issue is 250 coins.
The selling price is lei 310.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the leaflet.
The silver coins dedicated to the anniversary of 25 years since the establishment of SMURD are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver coins will be put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
