National Bank of Romania is to launch for numismatic purposes a gold coin dedicated to the Hinova hoard in the series "The History of Gold"

In accordance with the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 - The Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as from 24 December 2008, the National Bank of Romania is to launch for numismatic purposes a gold coin dedicated to the Hinova hoard in the series "The History of Gold".
The gold coin has the following characteristics:
- face value: leu 10;
- fineness: 999 %;
- weight: 1.224 g;
- diameter: 13.92 mm;
- quality: proof;
- edge: milled.
Obverse: in the upper part, from left to right, the face value "10 LEI", Romania's coat of arms and the inscription "ROMANIA", separated by a vertical row of bi-pyramidal necklace parts as the ones found in the Hinova hoard; below, two horizontal rows of bi-pyramidal necklace parts and the year of issue - 2008.
Reverse: in the upper part, from left to right, a vertical row of four bell-shaped necklace parts, the inscription "TEZAURUL" written from bottom to top, a vertical row of three bi-pyramidal necklace parts, the horizontal inscription on two rows "DE LA HINOVA" and the cylindrical open muff - the most important item of the Hinova hoard; below, two horizontal rows of bi-pyramidal necklace parts.
Each coin is embedded in a transparent plastic capsule and is accompanied by a leaflet in Romanian, English and French.
The leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of both the Governor and the Head Cashier of the National Bank of Romania. The coins will be displayed in appropriate cases having the NBR logo - BNR - inscribed on the lid.
The numismatic issue comprises 500 coins.
The collector coins made of gold dedicated to the Hinova hoard in the series "The History of Gold" are put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi, and Timişoara.
