Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 7 April 2017, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the anniversary of 100 years since the birth of Dinu Lipatti.
The coin has the following characteristics:

- Shape: round
- Diameter: 37 mm
- Weight: 31.103 g
- Quality: proof
- Edge: milled
Obverse: the image of a piano, a symbol of Dinu Lipatti’s performance art, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value “10 Lei” and the year of issue “2017”.
Reverse: the portrait of pianist and composer Dinu Lipatti, his birth and death years “1917”, “1950” and the inscription “Dinu Lipatti” in an arc.
The silver coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this issue is 200 silver coins.
The selling price is lei 355.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the leaflet.
The silver coins dedicated to the anniversary of 100 years since the birth of Dinu Lipatti are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
