Numismatic issue: 150 years since the founding of the Romanian Academy Library

Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 4 August 2017, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin launched to mark 150 years since the founding of the Romanian Academy Library.
The coin has the following characteristics:

- Metal: silver
- Fineness: 999‰
- Shape: round
- Diameter: 37 mm
- Weight: 31.103 g
- Quality: proof
- Edge: milled
Obverse: a vintage image depicting the old reading room of the Romanian Academy Library, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “10 LEI”, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2017”.
Reverse: the logo of the Romanian Academy superimposed on a graphic composition representing the collections of the Romanian Academy Library; on the outer ring, the circular inscription “BIBLIOTECA ACADEMIEI ROMANE 150 ANI”.
The silver coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this issue is 200 silver coins.
The selling price is lei 380.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the leaflet.
The silver coins to mark 150 years since the founding of the Romanian Academy Library are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
