Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 15 September 2017, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation for numismatic purposes, a silver coin and a brass collector coin to mark 100 years since Ecaterina Teodoroiu became the first female combat officer of the Romanian Army.

The coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules. The silver coins are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage is:
- 200 silver coins;
- 5,000 brass collector coins of bani 50.
The selling prices are:
- lei 355.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the leaflet;
- lei 9.50, VAT excluded, for the brass collector coin of bani 50.
The silver and the bani 50 brass collector coins, launched to mark 100 years since Ecaterina Teodoroiu became the first female combat officer of the Romanian Army, are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver and the brass collector coins, launched to mark 100 years since Ecaterina Teodoroiu became the first female combat officer of the Romanian Army will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
