Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 7 January 2019, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a set of three collector coins (made of gold, silver and copper-plated tombac), a silver and a brass collector coin dedicated to Romania’s taking over of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union starting with 1 January 2019.

The mintage is:
- 250 sets of three coins (made of gold, silver and copper-plated tombac);
- 250 silver coins;
- 5,000 brass collector coins.
The selling price are as follows:
- lei 1,965.00, VAT excluded, for the set of three coins (made of gold, silver and copper-plated tombac), including the leaflet;
- lei 325.00, VAT excluded, for the silver coin, including the leaflet;
- 10.00 lei, VAT excluded, for the brass collector coin.
The gold, silver, copper-plated tombac and brass collector coins, dedicated to Romania’s taking over of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union starting with 1 January 2019, are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The gold, silver, copper-plated tombac and brass collector coins dedicated to Romania’s taking over of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union starting with 1 January 2019 will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași and Timișoara.
