Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 18 November 2019, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin to mark 75 years since the establishment of the West University of Timișoara.
The coin has the following characteristics:
- Face value: lei 10;
- Metal: silver;
- Fineness: 999‰;
- Shape: round;
- Diameter: 37 mm;
- Weight: 31.103 g;
- Quality: proof;
- Edge: milled.
Obverse: the building of the West University of Timișoara, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value “10 LEI” and the year of issue “2019”.
Reverse: the assembly hall of the West University of Timișoara, the inscriptions “UNIVERSITATEA DE VEST” and “TIMISOARA” in an arc, the logo “UVT”, the years “1944-2019” and the number of years celebrated “75 ANI”.
The silver coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this issue is 300 silver coins.
The selling price is lei 375.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the leaflet.
The silver coins dedicated to the anniversary of 75 years since the establishment of the West University of Timișoara are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
