Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 17 February 2020, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin to mark 100 years since the establishment of the Romanian Opera in Cluj.
The coin has the following characteristics:
- Face value: lei 10;
- Metal: silver;
- Fineness: 999‰;
- Shape: round;
- Diameter: 37 mm;
- Weight: 31.103 g;
- Quality: proof;
- Edge: milled.
Obverse: the depiction of the building of the Romanian Opera in Cluj, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value “10 LEI” and the year “2019”.
Reverse: the image of the auditorium of the Romanian Opera in Cluj, the inscription “OPERA ROMANA DIN CLUJ” in an arc and the year of establishment “1919”.
The silver coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this issue is 300 silver coins.
The selling price is lei 395.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the certificate of authenticity.
The silver coins marking 100 years since the establishment of the Romanian Opera in Cluj are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
