Erratum: The maximum mintage of this numismatic issue is 1000 (instead of 500) silver coins.
Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, on 7 December 2020, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin to mark 140 years since the birth of poet Tudor Arghezi.

Obverse: the image of Tudor Arghezi’s house (Mărțișor), the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the year of issue “2020”, the face value “10 LEI”, and the coat of arms of Romania.
Reverse: the portrait and signature of Tudor Arghezi overlapping a fragment of the manuscript of one of his poems.
The silver coins, housed in transparent plastic capsules, will be accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The maximum mintage of this numismatic issue is 500 silver coins.
The selling price for the silver coin, including the certificate of authenticity, is lei 400.00, VAT excluded.
The silver coins dedicated to 140 years since the birth of poet Tudor Arghezi are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver coins dedicated to 140 years since the birth of poet Tudor Arghezi will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iaşi and Timişoara.
