Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 1 February 2021, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation for numismatic purposes a silver coin and a brass collector coin dedicated to the anniversary of 50 years since the establishment of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie.

Obverse of the brass collector coin:the image of the logo of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (International Organisation of La Francophonie), the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value “50 BANI” and the year of issue “2020”.
Reverse common to silver and brass collector coins: a depiction of the earth globe symbolising the universality of the French language and the circular inscription “50 DE ANI DE LA INFIINTAREA ORGANIZATIEI INTERNATIONALE A FRANCOFONIEI”.
The maximum mintage of the silver coin is 500 coins and the mintage of the brass coin is 5,000 coins.
The selling prices are as follows:
- lei 350.00, VAT excluded, for the silver coin, including the certificate of authenticity;
- lei 10.00, VAT excluded, for the brass collector coin with face value of bani 50.
The silver and brass collector coins dedicated to the anniversary of 50 years since the establishment of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver and brass collector coins dedicated to the anniversary of 50 years since the establishment of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iaşi and Timişoara.
