Should a numismatic issue fall short of the coins intended for online reservation, please be informed that items may be purchased directly from the counters of the NBR’s regional branches, without reservation, starting June 11.
Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 11 June 2021, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a brass collector coin dedicated to the 2020 European Football Championship.

Obverse: a graphic composition hinting at the game of football, the microtext “CAMPIONATUL EUROPEAN DE FOTBAL” inscribed continuously on three rows, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “50 BANI”, the coat of arms of Romania, and the year of issue “2021”.
Reverse: a football in the middle, the microtext “Campionatul European de Fotbal” inscribed continuously in the form of goal net meshes; the circular inscription “CAMPIONATUL EUROPEAN DE FOTBAL 2020”.
The brass collector coins will be housed separately in transparent plastic capsules.
The maximum mintage of this issue is 20,000 brass collector coins.
The selling price for the brass collector coin is lei 10.00, VAT excluded.
The brass collector coins dedicated to the 2020 European Football Championship are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The brass collector coins dedicated to the 2020 European Football Championship will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iaşi and Timişoara.
