06.04.2022

During 21-25 March 2022, the National Bank of Romania organised Global Money Week together with the Ministry of National Education and OECD/INFE (International Network on Financial Education).

NBR representatives from Bucharest and the entire branch network held a series of financial and banking education activities. More than 20,000 pupils and students from over 186 partner institutions participated in this year’s edition. This year’s motto was “Build your future, be smart about money”.

In 2022, the National Bank of Romania was the coordinator in Romania for this international project, as part of the global awareness campaign on the importance of money, which brought together more than 170 countries from all continents.

The central bank’s approach is aimed at increasing the level of financial education among children and young people, as well as boosting financial inclusion.

At the same time, two new episodes in the Financial Education with Ana and Radu educational film series were launched. They put the spotlight on saving and bank cards.

Also, the first issue of the Newsletter on Financial Education was released in a bid to further connect to the international financial education efforts (Newsletter on Financial Education - March - 1/2022).
