Numismatic issue dedicated to 300 years since the construction of the Kretzulescu Church in Bucharest

Should a numismatic issue fall short of the coins intended for online reservation, please be informed that items may be purchased directly from the counters of the NBR’s regional branches, without reservation, starting 28 November.


Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 28 November 2022, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation for numismatic purposes a gold coin to mark 300 years since the construction of the Kretzulescu Church in Bucharest.

The coin has the following specifications:

Reverse

Obverse: an image of the Kretzulescu Church in Bucharest, the year of issue “2022”, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value “100 LEI” and the inscription “ROMANIA”.

Reverse: an architectural detail of the Kretzulescu Church and the inscriptions “BISERICA KRETZULESCU” and “300 ANI”.

The gold coins, housed in transparent plastic capsules, will be accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue, as well as by certificates of authenticity, in Romanian, English and French. Each certificate of authenticity bears the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The maximum mintage of the gold coin is 1,000 coins.

The selling price for the gold coin, including the leaflet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 2,900.00, VAT excluded.

The gold coins dedicated to 300 years since the construction of the Kretzulescu Church in Bucharest are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
