Numismatic issue dedicated to 175 years since the adoption of the Tricolour

Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 25 September 2023, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation for numismatic purposes a mint set dedicated to 175 years since the adoption of the Tricolour.

The mint set comprises the Romanian coins in circulation with face values of ban 1, bani 5, bani 10, bani 50 and a silver medal.

The silver medal has the following specifications:

Shape round
Diameter 28 mm
Weight 15.5 g
Quality proof like
Edge flat

Obverse: a group of Romanian forty-eighters carrying the Tricolour and the inscription “175 DE ANI DE LA ADOPTAREA TRICOLORULUI”.

Reverse: a fragment of the painting entitled “România revoluționară” (Revolutionary Romania) and the inscriptions “ROMANIA REVOLUTIONARA” and “1848”.

The mint set comes as a folder in a case, with the coins embedded in special slots. The silver medal and the coins forming the mint set have proof like quality.

The maximum mintage of this numismatic issue is 5,000 sets.

The selling price for the mint set is lei 400.00, VAT excluded.

The mint set dedicated to 175 years since the adoption of the Tricolour will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
