Numismatic issue dedicated to 130 years since the birth of Camil Petrescu

As of 9 September 2024, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin to mark 130 years since the birth of Camil Petrescu.

The coin has the following specifications:

Reverse

Obverse: a composition inspired by the novel entitled “Ultima noapte de dragoste, întâia noapte de război” (The Last Night of Love, the First Night of War) by Camil Petrescu, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value “10 LEI”, and the year of issue “2024”.

Reverse: the portrait and name of Camil Petrescu, and his birth and death years, “1894” and “1957”.

The silver coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The maximum mintage is 5,000 silver coins.

The selling price for the silver coin, including the leaflet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 510.00, VAT excluded.

The silver coins to mark 130 years since the birth of Camil Petrescu are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The coins are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
