Public and publicly guaranteed external debt totalled EUR 10,025 million at end-2004, accounting for 57.1 percent of medium- and long-term debt compared with 61.7 percent at end-2003. Non-publicly guaranteed external debt came in at EUR 7,522 million, up 25.3 percent compared with end-2003.
