Numismatic issue - a new set of coins with year of issue 2002

In line with the initiative of the international monetary authorities to sell numismatic items to numismats and all persons interested, the National Bank of Romania has offered through its branches a new set of coins with year of issue 2002.
This set shall include, besides coins, a jubilee medal on the "Annual Meeting of the Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development". On the medal are engraved the place and time frame the meeting took place, as well as other graphic elements related to the importance of the institution and of the meeting held in Bucharest.
The features of the medal are the following:
- shape: round;
- metal: silver alloy;
- fineness: 800/1000;
- weight: 10 g;
- diameter: 28 mm;
The design of the medal depicts the Romanian Athenaeum, a decorative graphic composition symbolising the EBRD, the objectives of the meeting, the inscription "CONFERINTA ANUALA BERD", as well as the time frame and place were the meeting took place.
All the pieces of the folder are of high quality, due to the "proof" minting method.
The 9 coins are embedded in pages 3 and 4 of the book-shaped folder with 6 pages. On the covers of the set are reproduced: the Romanian Athenaeum, the design on the obverse and reverse, the features of the jubilee medal and a presentation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Romanian and English.
The entire issue of 1,500 sets with year of issue 2002 is to be sold both on domestic and foreign markets for ROL 310,000 per set.
