Ms. Schadler, Deputy Director of the IMF's European I Department, will visit Bucharest during October 8-11 to hold discussions for the 2002 Article IV consultation with Romania.
The Article IV consultation, as provided by the Articles of Agreement of the IMF, is an annual assessment with all IMF's member countries of the economic prospects of the country. Mr. Neven Mates, mission chief for Romania, will participate in the consultation. The discussion with the Romanian authorities for the third review under the stand-by arrangement will also be held in the next two weeks.
