Changes in reserve ratios

The National Bank of Romania Board decided to change the reserve ratios.
Thus, starting with the 24 November - 23 December 2002 maintenance period the reserve ratios shall be the following:
- 18 percent for funds in ROL, except for those mentioned under Art. 14 of Regulation No. 6/2002 on required reserves; and
- 25 percent for funds in foreign exchange, except for those mentioned under Art. 14 of Regulation No. 6/2002 on required reserves.
Current reserve ratios stand at 22 percent both for funds in ROL and foreign exchange.
