Annual regional seminar on financial stability issues and the annual meeting of the deputy governors coordinating the financial stability

25.09.2009

The fourth annual regional seminar on financial stability issues, jointly organized by the National Bank of Romania and the International Monetary Fund, took place in Sinaia during September 24-25, 2009.

The topic of the seminar "Challenges of the Global Financial Crisis For European Emerging Economies" was chosen to provide a forum for the participants to discuss recent trends and developments in the analysis of financial sector stability and to allow them to exchange experiences from their work in their countries. As in previous years, the invitees included IMF and NBR experts, representatives of European central banks, and analysts from Romanian financial institutions (CNVM, CSSPP, FGDB and CSA).

At the same time and in the context of the ongoing economic crisis, the second annual meeting of the deputy governors – or their representatives – coordinating financial stability in the Central and Eastern-European countries of the European Union was organized. The participants of this edition – from Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania – discussed financial stability in their countries.
