Numismatic issue - a silver coin dedicated to the 150-th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the Gun Factory at the Army Arsenal

Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, on 25 June 2013, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the Gun Factory at the Army Arsenal.
The coin has the following characteristics:

- Metal: silver
- Fineness: 999‰
- Shape: round
- Diameter: 37 mm
- Weight: 31.103 g
- Quality: proof
- Edge: milled
Obverse: a group of military men in the United Principalities’ army dressed in uniforms specific to various arms; the face value “10 LEI”; Romania’s coat of arms; the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc and the year of issue “2013”.
Reverse: a depiction of the Gun Factory at the Army Arsenal based on a lithograph of the time and the year of its establishment, “1863”; the United Principalities’ coat of arms; the inscriptions “MANUFACTURA DE ARME” and “ARSENALUL ARMATEI” in an arc.
The silver coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French.
Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this numismatic issue is 500.
The selling price per silver coin, including the leaflet, is lei 310.00 excluding VAT.
The silver coins dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the Gun Factory at the Army Arsenal are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
These silver collector coins will be put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
