Numismatic issue: a silver coin dedicated to the anniversary of 100 years since the initiation of the first Congress of Economists in Romania

Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, on 30 September 2013, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the anniversary of 100 years since the initiation of the first Congress of Economists in Romania.
The coin has the following technical characteristics:

- Metal: silver
- Fineness: 925‰
- Shape: round
- Diameter: 37 mm
- Weight: 31.103 g
- Quality: proof
- Edge: milled
Obverse: the depiction of the statue of Mercury, the patron god of commerce, on the main façade of the Old Palace of the National Bank of Romania, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value "10 LEI", the inscription "ROMANIA" in an arc and the year of issue "2013".
Reverse: the portraits and names of three renowned economists ranking among the initiators of the Congress of Economists: Ion Răducanu, Virgil N. Madgearu and Ion N. Angelescu, "1913", the year of the celebrated event, and the inscription "INITIEREA PRIMULUI CONGRES AL ECONOMISTILOR" in an arc.
The silver coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French.
Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this numismatic issue is 100.
The selling price per silver coin, including the leaflet, is lei 330.00 excluding VAT.
The silver coins dedicated to the anniversary of 100 years since the initiation of the first Congress of Economists in Romania are legal tender in Romania.
The silver coins will be put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
