Visit of the Governor of Banco Central du Brasil, Mr. Henrique de Campos Meirelles, to Banca Naţională a României.
On Thursday, December 13, 2007, Mr. Henrique de Campos Meirelles, Governor of Banco Central do Brasil, visited Banca Naţională a României and met Mr. Mugur Isărescu, Governor of Banca Naţională a României and members of the bank's Board.
On this occasion, Mr. Henrique de Campos Meirelles gave the lecture titled Brazil: Current Economic Outlook to the representatives of Romanian financial institutions, diplomats, economic analysts and the media, outlining the recent macroeconomic developments in Brazil as well as the challenges in implementing the direct inflation targeting strategy.
During the visit, Governor Henrique de Campos Meirelles also met Mr. Varujan Vosganian, the Minister of Economy and Finance and Mr. Bogdan Olteanu, the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies.
The visit by Mr. Henrique de Campos Meirelles to Romania reflects the joint efforts of both Banco Central do Brasil and Banca Naţională a României to continuously develop bilateral relationships and promote international cooperation.
