Starting 17 September 2007, the National Bank of Romania will launch a set of three medals made of silver, silvered tombac and tombac to mark the 125th anniversary of birth of diplomat Nicolae Titulescu.
The medals have the following characteristics:
(1) The silver medal:
- purity: 999/1000;
- weight: 15.55 grams;
- diameter: 30 mm;
- quality: proof;
- edge: milled.
(2) The silvered tombac medal:
- weight: 20.5 grams;
- diameter: 33 mm;
- quality: proof;
- edge: milled.
(3) The tombac medal:
- weight: 23.5 grams;
- diameter: 37 mm;
- quality: proof;
- edge: milled.
Obverse: in the middle, the portrait of Nicolae Titulescu in a pearled circle; on the outside, in a circle, the inscriptions: "NICOLAE TITULESCU", "ZIDITOR DE MARI IDEALURI" and the years "1882" and "1941".
Reverse: in the middle, in a pearled circle, the headquarters of "Nicolae Titulescu" Foundation in Bucharest and the year of issue "2007"; on the outside, in a circle, the inscriptions: "125 DE ANI DE LA NASTERE" and "FUNDATIA EUROPEANA TITULESCU".
The set of three medals made of silver, silvered tombac and tombac, issued to mark the 125th anniversary of birth of diplomat Nicolae Titulescu, will be accompanied by a leaflet in Romanian, English and French.
The leaflet comes with an authentication certificate bearing the signatures of both the Governor and the Head Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The medals will be presented in appropriate cases having the NBR logo - BNR - inscribed on the lid.
The numismatic issue comprises 750 medals, i.e. 250 silver medals, 250 silvered tombac medals and 250 tombac medals.
The collector medals in the issue dedicated to the 125th anniversary of birth of diplomat Nicolae Titulescu are put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi, and Timişoara.
